This is book 2 (and the final book) in this “series.” Feel free to check out my review of book 1 if you haven’t read it: Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist.
In this book Skye and Ollie are afraid of telling his sister, Bridget, for fear of how the relationship will end up paired with her potential reaction. On top of that, Skye’s old, cheating, boyfriend shows up to try and make amends in an attempt to win her back. So what happens? A lot of funny things, some drama, and a very sweet ending.
- I really didn’t like Skye in this book. She was quirky and fun and doing her best to not be hung up on Ollie in book one, but she just seems weirdly obsessed with her plan and completely inflexible. Her near sightedness is what causes the drama, so it’s necessary to move the story forward, but I’m with Ollie in his frustration with her. It’s definitely earned.
- I did like that Skye had to make amends in a big way due to her craziness. It’s typical in these books that the man does something man-ish and ruins a good thing, but this turned it on its head. It was a refreshing take on the typical “boy meets girl” story.
I really liked book one. Book two less so. Kay Marie still had me laughing out loud at some of the situations, so I appreciated that, and I’m definitely not sorry I read it, but my vote is that book one could be a stand alone. While cute, this wouldn’t be on my “must read” list.
